About Positively Penned:

My Story with Anxiety & Journaling

Hi, I'm Nicki

Creator of Positively Penned

I started Positively Penned because I know what it's like to stand in a grocery store aisle, heart racing, wondering if anyone can tell you're having a panic attack. Since 2003, anxiety has been my unwelcome companion, and for a long time, I didn't know what to do with it except survive it.

Journaling became my way through because getting it out of my head and onto paper was the first thing that actually helped. It gave me a place to process what I couldn't say out loud, make sense of what I was feeling, and slowly start to understand myself better.

"I didn't start Positively Penned as an expert. I started it as a woman who needed a community like this and couldn't find one."

Over time I started noticing that tending to my anxiety wasn't just about my mind. It was about everything: the way I was eating, whether I was moving my body, how I was sleeping, even getting my hands in the garden. The more I tended to my whole self, the more things shifted. Including things I never expected.

Positively Penned is where I bring all of it, the hard days, the small wins, the journal prompts that helped, the honest conversations about anxiety, food, movement, hormones, and what it actually takes to feel better.

Just women tending to themselves: honestly, imperfectly, together.

Who This Space Is For
This is for you if:

You want to journal but don't know where to start — or you've started a hundred times and never kept going

You're navigating anxiety and open to exploring new ways of working through it

You're starting to pay attention to how everything connects; what you eat, how you move, how you talk to yourself, and you want a space to explore all of it

You're on a journey to a better version of yourself and you want honest company along the way

You want a judgment-free space where women share what's actually working, and what isn't

You're looking for a space that covers the whole picture; mind, body, and everything in between

You will find....

  • Honest writing about anxiety, journaling, and whole-self wellness

The Tools

I also create self-care tools to go along with this journey: digital planners for your iPad and free printables you can download right now. My Love Letters to Myself digital journal and wellness planner are favorites. Everything's designed in my signature color palette because I believe our self-care tools should feel just as beautiful as the work we're doing.
