Hey Lovelies,

Ever have those days where you just feel... off? Like something's not quite aligned, but you can't figure out what it is? Maybe you're more anxious than usual, or you can't seem to focus, or you just don't feel like yourself. That's usually your body and energy telling you something needs attention.

I'll be real with you - figuring out what you need and staying connected to yourself isn't always easy. Some days I feel grounded and amazing, other days I'm just trying to get back to center. And if you've ever felt that way, you're definitely not alone.

A couple years ago, I had my energy read by my cousin who does Reiki. She told me my throat chakra was blocked, my crown and third eye chakras were wide open and vividly glowing in hues of purple, and my sacral chakra needed some serious attention. At the time, my husband and I were in a passionate parenting disagreement and I was not feeling him. So when she mentioned the sacral chakra, I was honestly shocked - like, how did she know? But the throat chakra thing? That hit even harder. A part of why I decided to do the reading was because I was feeling so stifled. I realized I had completely lost my voice. Not literally, but I started second-guessing everything I thought and felt. I became afraid to share my opinions. I didn't even know who I was anymore and I was desperate for insight into this feeling.

That reading sent me on this whole journey of rediscovering myself - focusing on my problem areas, and honestly, blogging has been a huge part of that. Writing freely, sharing my thoughts - it's helping me open up and use my voice again. I was already familiar with the power of positive affirmations, so I started applying them specifically to the chakras that needed attention - especially my throat and sacral chakras. When I combined affirmations with really understanding what each chakra does? That's when things started to shift for me.

Wait, What Even Are Chakras?

So chakras are basically energy centers in your body that help keep everything flowing the way it should. When they're aligned, you feel connected, vibrant, and ready to take on whatever comes your way. And who doesn't want that?

Let me walk you through all seven chakras and share the affirmations that can help you align each one. Trust me, this stuff works. Give it a try.

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) – Getting Grounded

Your Root Chakra is at the base of your spine, and it's all about feeling stable, safe, and grounded. Think of it as your foundation - your connection to the earth.

Affirmation: "I am safe, I am steady, and I've got this."

When you repeat this one, you're building that solid feeling of stability. Picture a tree with roots going deep into the ground - that's you when this chakra is aligned. Rooted and ready for anything.

2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) – Your Creative Center

Just below your belly button is where your creativity lives. Your Sacral Chakra is all about passion, pleasure, and emotional expression. This is where the fun stuff happens.

Affirmation: "I'm allowed to feel everything and create from that space."

This affirmation helps you tap into that creative energy and let it flow. When your Sacral Chakra is balanced, you feel inspired to explore life and express yourself freely. It's a beautiful thing.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – Your Confidence Boost

Your Solar Plexus is in your upper abdomen, and this is where your personal power lives. Your confidence. Your inner strength. Your superhero energy.

Affirmation: "I'm capable, I'm strong, and I believe in myself."

This one is like a shot of confidence straight to your soul. When this chakra is aligned, you feel unstoppable. Ready to chase your dreams and handle whatever life throws at you. Honestly, we all need more of that energy.

4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) – All About Love

Right in the center of your chest is your Heart Chakra - your emotional center. This is where love, compassion, and connection happen. It's what links you to other people and to the universe.

Affirmation: "I choose love - for myself and for others."

This affirmation opens your heart to all the love that's available to you. When your Heart Chakra is aligned, forgiveness comes easier. Connection feels natural. And spreading kindness becomes second nature.

5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) – Speaking Your Truth

Your Throat Chakra is exactly where you'd think - at your throat. It governs how you communicate and express yourself. It's your voice, and it matters.

Affirmation: "I speak my truth with confidence and clarity."

This one encourages you to speak your mind and show up as your authentic self. When this chakra is aligned, you feel empowered to share who you really are without fear or holding back. And that kind of freedom? Life-changing.

6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) – Trusting Your Gut

Right between your eyebrows is your Third Eye Chakra - your center for intuition and inner wisdom. Your personal compass, basically.

Affirmation: "My intuition guides me, and I listen to it."

Most of us already know we have intuitive power, right? This affirmation boosts it. When your Third Eye is aligned, you make choices that actually resonate with who you are. You feel more in tune with your path.

7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) – Your Spiritual Connection

At the top of your head sits your Crown Chakra. This one is all about your spiritual connection and your link to something bigger than yourself - the universe's infinite wisdom.

Affirmation: "I'm connected to something bigger than myself, and that brings me peace."

This affirmation invites that cosmic energy into your life. When your Crown Chakra is aligned, you feel a deep sense of connection and unity with everything around you. It's profound.

So... You Ready to Try This?

Listen, I get it, some of you will feel this is some woo woo internet bs. But, even if you're not totally convinced this stuff works, why not give it a shot? At the very least, you're building some beautiful self-love habits through affirmations. But if you really lean into it and put intention behind it, you might end up feeling beautifully balanced and connected to yourself and the universe.

About Me

Hi, I'm Monique, the creator behind Positively Penned! For over 20 years, I've been learning how to live with anxiety - the hard way, the messy way, and eventually, in ways that actually help. I'm not a mental health professional, but I am someone who's collected a lot of tips, tools, and practices along this journey that have genuinely made a difference.

I created Positively Penned to share what I've learned with others who might be struggling with anxiety or self-worth issues - because if something helped me, maybe it can help you too. One of the biggest things that's helped me personally? Writing it out. Journaling, reflecting, and creating space to process everything. That's actually what led me to start designing and handcrafting notebooks and planners - I wanted beautiful, intentional tools that make the practice of journaling and self-reflection feel special and supportive.

My goal is to help you nurture your mental well-being and find balance, joy, and positivity in your daily life - whether that's through the blog posts I share here, the printables I create, or the handmade journals in my shop. Even on the hard days, especially on the hard days.

When I'm not designing or writing, you'll find me spending time with hubby & son, rocking out to music, or enjoying a cozy moment with a good book and my favorite tea.

Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again soon...
